Three Perspectives on the Millennium and the Afterlife

Eschatology is the study of the last things. For some, this only means "future things," but all these authors note that we are already living in a time of initial fulfillment of the promises about the Messiah, Jesus. We are in a world where eschatology is already present.

This book participates in the debate on eschatology with a focus on the millennium and the afterlife. These issues have to do with the question of whether there will be a future intermediate kingdom on earth for a thousand years in which Christ reigns before the establishment of the new heavens and the new earth.

Since the focus of this book is the theme of the millennium and beyond, certain topics normally prominent in books on eschatology and the end times are not prominent here. Topics such as the rapture and the tribulation receive attention only when they are related to the debate on the millennium.
