Collection: Reina Valera Contemporary (RVC)

United Bible Societies, in its desire to respond to the demands of different Bible readers, carried out a new revision of the Reina-Valera text, which, without straying from the classic version, can be read and enjoyed with the same pleasure and devotion as the translation and revision of more than four centuries ago.

The Revision Committee considered the 1569 translation and the 1602 revision, and also collated both in light of the Greek text, while never losing sight of the modern-day Latin American reader. And although biblical scholarship today recognizes the existence of older Greek manuscripts, this revision also recognizes that both Reina and Valera based their translation and revision, respectively, on the Greek text known as Textus Receptus. Thus, the readings of this text have been respected, while noting in footnotes the most notable differences between it and the manuscripts currently recognized as older.
