This icebreaker is fascinating. As its title says, it is an optical illusion. These are two cards of the same size, but when shown in a straight line, one of them appears to be larger than the other. It's easy to hand out and almost everyone likes it: adults, children, and young people. People are amazed when they discover that they are identical. You should show them with the color facing the person and the text facing you. (Pack of 50)

The way to use them is like this: You approach the person and say:

- Hello, could you tell me which of the two is bigger, the red one or the green one?

-- Hmm... I think it's the green one???

(Quickly switch them and ask: - And now?)

-- Wow, now it's the red one, how did you do that?

Then you put them together and show the person that both are the same. Tell them that this is an optical illusion and that often eyes are deceived by something that seemed to be one way but was actually another.)

The rest of the conversation should be more or less a dialogue similar to the text on the back of the cards. (See the text on the cards and try to follow it)

CARD ONE:

Hold up both cards with the curve to the right side. Which is bigger, the red one or the green one? They are both identical! Our eyes are often fooled by optical illusions. Speaking of eyes, would you sell one of your eyes for $1 million? How about both for $20 million? No one in their right mind would. Your eyes are priceless, although they are only the windows to your soul. Jesus said precisely that your eyes are worth nothing compared to the value of your soul: "And if your eye causes you to stumble, pluck it out; it is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into hell" (Mark 9:47). Jesus asked, "What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul?” (Matthew 16:26). There is nothing more important than your salvation. Do you believe you will go to Heaven when you die?

CARD TWO:

Examine yourself by going through the Ten Commandments: How many lies have you told in your life? Have you ever stolen anything? (no matter the value). Have you committed adultery? (Jesus said, "Anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart" – Matthew 5:28). Have you murdered anyone? (God considers hatred to be the same as murder – 1 John 3:15). Have you always loved God above all things? Be honest. You know that you will be found guilty on Judgment Day and therefore end up in Hell. But Jesus showed how much God loves us, by dying on the cross to receive our punishment and then rising from the dead. Repent today, (confess and turn away from your sin) and trust in Jesus Christ. Read the Bible daily, and obey it. God will never fail you.

Once you dare to take the icebreaker out of your pocket and hand it to the person, you will have a high percentage of presenting the gospel from beginning to end. If not, try to leave the tract with them and ask the person to read it when they have time; tell them, read it when you have some free time, it has a message from God for you.

Icebreaker tracts will help you make friends with the person; they won't see you as a religious fanatic trying to gain followers for your religion. Make people smile and laugh yourself; let them see something different in you. Try not to jump straight into the presentation of the gospel; ask questions related to the icebreaker you use, such as: "What are you going to do with so much money?"; "If you get change, give me something!"... "Don't give it to your grandfather, lest he faint!"... etc.

Jesus and the disciples also built bridges before going straight to the message. (John 4:19-29). Jesus used many parables and then gave divine teaching. Do the same. Follow the master's steps.

Always try to carry this type of icebreaker with you and distribute them in restaurants, stores, elevators, gas stations, in supermarket lines, etc.

In the next lesson, we will give you two other very good icebreakers. Stay tuned for our newsletter. Remember what our Lord Jesus told us: I am sending you out like sheep among wolves. Therefore be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves. (Matthew 10:16). And when it comes to preaching the gospel, try to find several creative ways by which you can bridge to the presentation of the gospel, always using the law to bring conviction of sin.
