This book presents a comprehensive introduction to biblical and covenantal theology as developed in the writings of the vast majority of Particular Baptists of the Second London Baptist Confession of Faith (1689). The book presents the confessional Baptist covenantal position in a general but clear manner. It begins with an overview of who the Baptists were who contributed to covenant theology. It then briefly presents a complete overview of the biblical narrative before focusing on the threefold exposition of the covenants: of works, of grace, and of redemption. It continues with an explanation of the Old and New Covenants. A special contribution of this book is a treatise on the Moral Law of God and how it is seen in covenantal development and its current validity, as well as an exposition and defense of the Lord's Day as Christian rest in the New Covenant. This book concludes with a theological comparison between credobaptist and paedobaptist positions, presenting the key similarities and differences. An excellent book for an introduction to covenantal knowledge from a confessional biblical Baptist perspective.
