Servants for His Glory

We all come into the world with a certain void in our lives that drives us to seek the meaning we all look for in different ways. Man is by nature a "doer" and finds his identity in what he does. We see how children enjoy building a sandcastle or a fort with soldiers in battle position. Women, on the other hand, are more inclined towards their relationships and find their identity in them. Even as girls, we see how they tend to play with dolls from an early age and assume the role of mother and experience motherhood without anyone teaching them how to do it. It seems that men are prepared for battle and "doing" and women are equipped for "relating." However, society has devalued motherhood; we see that many women have also wanted to belong to the world of work because they find more satisfaction working outside the home to provide for their families.

"Doing" has become the addiction of our generation. Unfortunately, an excessive emphasis on doing has led many people not to cultivate an inner life that helps them sustain their outer life. This explains the many failures we constantly see day by day. When a person's inner life is not prepared, their character does not have the maturity or strength to sustain it in the long term.

In this book, Pastor Nuñez leads us to Scripture and to experience the importance of cultivating the foundation of our lives so that we can "be what we need to be to do what we need to do."
