This version of the Holy Scriptures is based on the Reina-Valera Actualizada 2015 version, which was partially published by Casa Bautista de Publicaciones/Editorial Mundo Hispano starting in 1982, and as a complete Bible in 1989, and was subsequently revised in 1999 and 2006. The RVA was a revision of the 1909 Reina-Valera, taking into account both Testaments in their original languages and comparing the text with about twenty other ancient and modern versions. The result is a revision that offers many of the benefits of a new translation but retains much of the classic flavor of the old version by Casiodoro de Reina (originally published in 1569) and its first revision by Cipriano de Valera (published in 1602).
The RVA-2015, with its philosophy of faithfulness, honesty, and clarity, and its methodology known as "moderately literal," has updated the RVA.
