In recent years, we have witnessed great social and cultural changes in the West, changes originated by man's continuous search for a foundation. Yesterday there was hope in reason, faith, and science. Today there is discouragement, the death of ideas and values, the emergence of relative truth, and individualism. This new way of thinking, which differs from the traditional ideas and lifestyles that we called modernity yesterday, is called postmodernity today. Both yesterday and today, the gospel is the answer to that search of man. As Christians, we are called to know and be sensitive to that human need to know how to give an answer and hope.
