Selected Works of Benjamin Warfield

B.B. Warfield (November 5, 1851 - February 16, 1921)

Benjamin B. Warfield was the director of Princeton Seminary from 1887 to 1921. He is considered the last great Princeton theologian before its division in 1929, which gave rise to Westminster Seminary and the Orthodox Presbyterian Church (OPC).

Warfield entered Princeton University in 1868, from which he graduated with honors. He then entered Princeton Seminary in 1873 to prepare for the ministry. He graduated in 1876.

In 1881, he co-authored an article with A.A. Hodge on the inspiration of the Bible, which garnered significant attention due to his strong and academic defense of the inerrancy of Scripture.

In 1914, Plan of Salvation (included in this selection) was published, a compendium of five lectures Warfield delivered at the Princeton Summer School of Theology.

Throughout his life, he continued to write books and articles, among which we include here: Authority, Intellect and Heart, The Lord's Supper, and The Whole Sanctification. His works continue to be widely read to this day.
