I'm not ashamed

"What will become of the Church in a hostile world?" thought the downcast Timothy. Paul's answer, written while facing death in prison for his faith, is inspiring for all of us. Martyn Lloyd Jones, with a detailed word study, urges us not to lose hope in the face of life's difficulties and uncertainties; instead, we are encouraged to rejoice in the Gospel, knowing that it is good news for everyone.

These evangelistic messages are actually sermons presented to his congregation at Westminster Chapel, London, in the spring of 1964. There are eleven sermons based on the same text found in the Second Letter that the apostle Paul writes to Timothy, chapter 1, verse 12: "For this reason I also suffer these things; but I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed and am convinced that he is able to guard until that day what has been entrusted to me." On this great declaration, the Doctor demonstrates the truth of Christianity, which he presents as the only answer to the world's problems. We are all sick without God, and we need this cure, which is the salvation we receive through Christ Jesus on the Cross.
