A Changing World

On December 26, 1991, an event of extraordinary importance in universal history took place. This was the dissolution of the Soviet Union, an event with enormous repercussions that few had foreseen. In truth, only the historian Andrei Amalrik and Nobel laureate Alexander Solzhenitsyn, Russian dissidents, had had the courage and vision to announce that such a seismic event would occur. Although it is undeniable that the Cold War ended, there are many who insist on continuing to analyze the current global situation from the perspective of a historical period that ended four decades ago. Attempting to understand the present with Cold War paradigms – even those of left and right – constitutes a mistake with detrimental consequences.

History has continued to advance, and just as it would have been foolish to try to understand late 19th-century Europe based on the life of Napoleon, definitively dethroned in 1815, it is absurd, and even ridiculous, to understand our world based on the Cold War. Our world has continued to change since 1991, and what is even more relevant is that this set of changes is constant and involves colossal challenges that humankind has never before had to face. Far from democracy and freedom being realities that impose themselves almost naturally, the truth is that they are more threatened than ever, and this threat is not only external but, to a large extent, also internal.

A Changing World is an attempt to explain what democracy truly is and its fragility, and what the globalist agenda is, which threatens patriotism and the continuity of democracy itself.
