Since the time of the apostle Paul, thoughtful Christians have considered John 3:16 to initiate, rather than conclude, the debate on the topic of redemption. However, few contemporary scholars have explored the biblical passages referring to the necessity, nature, perfection, and scope of redemption with the same degree of precision and depth achieved by Professor Murray.
The second part of this work deals with the different steps that must be identified in the Bible, regarding how the redemption accomplished by Christ is progressively applied in the lives of the redeemed. Useful expositions are offered on biblical teaching concerning calling, regeneration, faith and repentance, justification, adoption, sanctification, perseverance, union with Christ, and glorification.
