This book presents us, in the form of a dual narrative, with the reality of how a thought process develops, beginning by moving away from God and reaching its ultimate consequences. Through an adventure story, we are told the tale of Esteban Fuentes and his journey in search of a perfect utopia where God supposedly doesn't exist, nor do any of the problems of religion or archaic myths—an earthly hope built by man himself using reason and his natural ideals. He will soon discover that not everything is as it seems, and he will see the great danger of ideas as simple as "freedom" at all costs.
