Four orphans, three brothers and one sister, embark together on a journey not unlike that of Christian in John Bunyan's Pilgrim's Progress. Their goal is to leave France and reach the coast to take a ship to Amsterdam. However, given that the year is 1686 and the children profess to be Huguenots, their young days are full of adventure and fear.

Forced at an early age to consider the gravity of life and death, the little ones forge a bond of loyalty that goes beyond family ties. Their unwavering trust in God provides 21st-century children with an example of what it means to lose everything for their faith. Skillfully and emotionally written, this novel is highly recommended.
