"If God doesn't help us, we are lost," Captain Morris shouted in the middle of the storm. Hudson Taylor knew the skilled sailor was right. The storm not only threatened to sink the Dumfries, but also his hope of sighting the coast of China, the country to which God had called him. Hudson survived the dangers of the spring voyage to his beloved China. Determined to obey God, and trusting in the provision of the One who had called him, he overcame persecutions and triumphed over the most painful personal circumstances. All with the purpose of bringing God's truth to China's "fields ready for harvest." Today, Hudson Taylor's testimony continues to challenge and inspire young and mature Christians to proclaim the message of the Gospel, despite trials or difficulties, to those who are hopeless and adrift.
