History of the Reformation

The Apostle Paul declares: "For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed—a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: 'The righteous will live by faith.'" In these words from the Bible, Luther found answers to his struggles and his need for forgiveness. He said: "I felt myself to be reborn and to have entered paradise itself through open gates." It was also these words that changed the course of Church history, marking the birth of the evangelical Protestant church.

This book presents the history of the 16th-century Reformation from a Hispanic perspective. It takes Isabella I of Castile as its starting point, whose kingdom played an important role in the politics of Europe at that time. Furthermore, the final chapters show the beginning of the colonization of the Americas, an event contemporary with the Reformation.
