Keeping the Heart has profoundly influenced Church history. This is John Flavel's classic work on union and communion with God. John Flavel (1628-1691), studied at Oxford University, was an English Puritan theologian, pastor, and writer. His book Keeping the Heart, was first published in 1670. He is remembered for his many writings.
