Ineffable joy

Baptism and the gifts of the Holy Spirit, specifically, have been a source of conflict and deep divisions within Christianity. Today more than ever, we need a biblical and objective vision that can turn this entire matter into a true blessing for God's people. And who better than Dr. Lloyd-Jones to guide us and show us, with his masterful style, the biblical teaching on the subject? Throughout the twenty-four chapters of this great work, this brilliant preacher and teacher highlights the unique importance of the power of the Holy Spirit in the Church's witness, warns of the dangers that lurk in this area, and leads us incomparably to long for a much deeper experience of the Spirit of God in our lives.

This book shows that while there is an abundant life in the Spirit, the Spirit is the Spirit of truth, who always bears witness to Jesus Christ. Hywel R. Jones (London Theological Seminary)

Not all of Dr. Lloyd-Jones’ exposition will convince everyone, but anyone who is spiritually alive will greatly benefit from this masterful and challenging call to the inner realities of the true Christian life. J.I. Packer (Regent College, Vancouver)
