Pick your battles

In theology, as in battles, some hills are worth dying on, and some are not. How do we know which ones are worth dying on? When should doctrine cause division, and when should unity prevail? Just as medics on the battlefield attend to the most severely wounded first and then address less urgent injuries, we must prioritize doctrine by order of importance. Pastor Gavin Ortlund implores us to cultivate humility by prioritizing doctrine into four categories: essential, urgent, important, and unimportant, so that we can be effective in advancing the gospel.
