Worship in the Early Church

The pages of this book will explore the development of the various elements that constitute Christian worship from the birth of the church in the first century until after the invasions of the Germanic peoples in the fifth century. The authors' aim is to demonstrate how each stage in the development of Christian worship relates to and influences the worship of Hispanic believers today.

Justo González and his wife, Catherine Gunsalus González, have served for many years as professors of Church History at Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, Georgia. Both have contributed numerous books to the English- and Spanish-speaking evangelical world. Together they have written several books in English, such as Vision at Patmos, Heretics for Armchair Theologians, and The Love of God (The Epistles of John). In Spanish, they have published Cómo leer el Apocalipsis.
