The Heart of Christianity - How to Take the Course

THE HEART OF CHRISTIANITY is a ten-week course whose purpose is to lead people to know Jesus Christ. Week after week, participants examine the Gospel of Mark, addressing three major questions that are an essential part of Christianity: Who was Jesus? Why did He come? and What does it mean to follow Him?

THE HEART OF CHRISTIANITY course was created to evangelize with the Gospel of Mark and has been designed to be worked on collaboratively: by the person responsible for running it, the group of instructors who support it, and the people who participate. To that end, three elements have been developed that make up the Course:

• a book called How to Run the Course
• a Study Guide for participants, and
• one more for instructors, the Study Guide: Instructor's Edition.

If one of the three is missing, the Course is incomplete and cannot be developed. In addition, an identical Bible is used by everyone.

How to run the course:

Provides practical advice on how to promote, prepare, and run the course

Contains transcripts of the original talks given by Rico Tice at All Souls Langham Place, in the UK

Includes suggestions for creating invitations, feedback forms, and visual aids

It should be used in conjunction with the following books: Study Guide: Instructor's Edition and Study Guide

The authors of The Heart of Christianity are Rico Tice, Barry Cooper, and Sam Shammas. The course was developed over ten years, first printed in 2003, and in the Second Edition, in 2005, it was thoroughly revised and updated. This Spanish version was contextualized in 2008 for the Latin world.
