The Apostle Paul gave clear instructions to his disciple Timothy to "guard the deposit" of the faith. This consisted of knowing and applying the sacred scriptures to every situation in life. But not only him, but Timothy was tasked with instructing others, so that they too would instruct others. Faith is not something we can keep to ourselves. It must be lived and communicated from one generation to another, from one person to another, and from one place to another.

In the 16th century, pastors Caspar Olevian and Zacharias Ursinus were entrusted with the task of compiling an instruction manual for the churches. Their work was the beautiful Heidelberg Catechism, a true practical and doctrinal treasure that has served as a blessing to many generations of Christians.

We offer this study based on this catechism, convinced of the need today for a return to the historical faith of the church of Jesus Christ.
