Ecclesiastical discipline

Is it true that we should exercise discipline in the church? Doesn't this show a lack of love?

Although church discipline was part of church life in the past, churches gradually stopped practicing it in the 20th century. But Jesus commanded it, Paul exercised it, and churches have benefited from its practice.

So why should we exercise discipline in the church? Because it demonstrates love for the person in sin, for the entire church, for unbelieving neighbors, and for the glory of Christ.
