Christian Formation Course

The present Christian Training Course arose from the author's desire many years ago to present an orderly and easily understandable exposition of the different aspects that constitute the essential message of Jesus Christ. To this end, he made a meticulous study of the four Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John), extracting from them all those texts closely related to this topic and classifying them into four sections of three lessons each; all this following a logical and progressive order, from the most general to the most particular, from the most abstract truths to the most practical ones. Originally, this material was presented in the form of loose-leaf sheets with their corresponding questionnaires. In this edition, in booklet form, a more practical and manageable presentation has been sought.

The Course is not a mere theoretical and abstract dissertation on what it means to be a Christian and how to become one. On the contrary, it is the result of many years of studying God's Word combined with the experience of communicating its teachings to hundreds of people in personal evangelism. These factors provided the author with the ability to give an eminently practical approach to this Course, so that those who follow it, even the most uninstructed in these matters, perceive these spiritual truths in an intelligible and accessible way, while also having their questions and concerns answered that may arise before or during the study of the Course.

The approach of the Course is, therefore, eminently practical. In addition to expressing profound spiritual concepts in a simple and easy-to-understand way, the student is constantly reminded of where they are in the Course (recapitulating what has been learned up to the various points) and the relationship of the various points to previous and subsequent lessons, so that they can obtain a contextualized and non-fragmentary knowledge of the different doctrines they are learning.

The Course is designed to be used with the help of a Christian who has sufficient training in this field and who can act as a guide or teacher for the person taking the Course, supervising the answers to the questionnaires and clarifying any doubts that may arise during the completion of the Course.

The author's desire is that, through these simple lessons, the student will gain a basic, but sufficient, understanding of the teachings of Jesus Christ that will lead them to be a true disciple of His and, therefore, follow Him on the path that leads to eternal life.
