One of the authors, Michael Green, says:

Almost all books are written with a specific motivation and situation in mind. This book is a clear example of that. The motivation has been the friendship between the two authors and the deep conviction that Christianity is relevant, but not only that, the Gospel is also true.

It is clear that we are entering a new era, an era in which there is renewed confidence in the truth of Christianity. And it is fascinating to be able to live in this period. The dogmas of the Enlightenment, which have dominated Western thought for two centuries, are now a thing of the past. We know for sure about the emptiness that materialism produces. And it is clear that there is currently a hunger for spirituality. Although people still have to discover the true spirituality of Christianity, they are aware that their lives have a spiritual dimension that is not being satisfied.

We are in the midst of one of the great moments of change in human thought. In such a situation, it is crucial to understand why so many people in the West are not Christian and how Christians can reach them in a way that is attractive, reasonable, and loving.

And this is what we will try to do in this book. We hope that it will serve to strengthen confidence in the truth of the Gospel and offer some useful suggestions on how to convey that message to others in a relevant way, that is, so that they end up seeing that it also gives meaning to their lives.
