Commentary on Acts Chapters 5-6. This is the third in a series of volumes collecting Dr. Lloyd-Jones's preaching on the Acts of the Apostles. It includes texts from the chapters which, he says, present "authentic Christianity and nothing else."
Why should 21st-century readers be interested in 1st-century preaching? Are there not already many more urgent matters to concern them than a long speech given by a Jewish Christian to the leaders of his nation in Jerusalem? Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones was convinced that the time spent on the early chapters of Acts, "to discover how the Church began and what its message was in the beginning" was well invested.
