Commentary on Acts Chapters 1 to 3. This is the first in a series of volumes collecting Dr. Lloyd-Jones's preaching on the Acts of the Apostles. It includes texts from the first three chapters, which, according to him, present "authentic Christianity and nothing else."
Why should readers in the 21st century be interested in 1st-century preaching? Are there not already many more urgent matters to concern them than a long discourse given by a Jewish Christian to the leaders of his nation in Jerusalem? Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones was convinced that the time spent on the early chapters of Acts, "to discover how the Church began and what its message was in the beginning" was well invested.
