Does it matter that the God Christians worship is in himself a Triune God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit? Does this fundamental truth of Christianity have any effect on the believer's personal fellowship with God? John Owen affirms that it does, that nothing impacts our worship and fellowship with God more than the fact that God is a Triune God. Owen challenges all believers to recognize the ministry that God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit have in their lives. This second volume develops the second part of fellowship with the Son, and how the believer particularly enjoys fellowship with the Holy Spirit.

Communion with God is Owen's most extraordinary effort. No one else has opened the paths of personal communion with the three persons of the Trinity as Owen does. Owen is simply extraordinary! What an honor it would be for God if more of His children knew how to enjoy Him as Owen does.”
John Piper

“Union and communion with the Most Holy Trinity are at the heart of Reformed theology. John Owen was one of its greatest expositors. This is exactly the kind of teaching we need to revitalize the church in our generation.”
Gerald L. Bray

“Here is an edition for the modern reader of a classic Puritan work by a classic Puritan author. It is a powerful Trinitarian portrayal from Scripture of the truth that communion with God is and must always be the inner story of the true Christian’s life. John Owen is a profound teacher in all aspects of spiritual life, and it is a joy to welcome this reappearance of one of his finest achievements.”
J. I. Packer
