The COVID-19 pandemic has revealed the deficiencies of our generation of believers in the area of self-care and how to order our lives. We need a biblical, balanced, and practical perspective. Currently, there are two strands of discourse, and like all dichotomies, these extremes do not necessarily lead us to a healthy balance. We ask ourselves questions like: What does God say about self-care? Why and how can I care for myself and order my life holistically? Isn't it selfish? Isn't it a sin to emphasize body care? We see clear instructions in Scripture that human beings are called to love with all their mind, soul, strength, and heart (two of these involve the physical part). God has given us a body, and when He came to earth, He came in a body. When He ascended to heaven, He ascended in a body, but when it was necessary to crucify Him, He did so.
