Martin Luther is recognized in history as the principal reformer of the sixteenth century. What is little known in our Latin world is that Luther was primarily a professor of the Old Testament in his academic vocation. His writings in this area have not yet been translated into Spanish. With this Commentary on the Minor Prophets, Volume 2, translated from Latin into Spanish, Luther's teachings on all the Minor Prophets from 1524 to 1526 are completed. In these commentaries, a deep knowledge of our sin and how God condemns it shines through, but even more so do justification by faith and the importance of proclaiming Christ alone. In this Volume 2, Luther's pastoral vocation is evident, seeking to make the prophetic vocation of the Minor Prophets present for us. This prophetic vocation offers us a style of proclamation where the song and dance of God overflow in a poetic tone to encourage and nourish, without disregarding our intellect or our emotions. In this prophetic vocation, Luther highlights God's active justice that counteracts our idolatry and self-love while simultaneously uplifting the weak and dispossessed.
This volume also contains numerous observations by Luther on the pastoral vocation, the true priesthood of all believers, and valuable and sound comments that will impact our daily lives as parents, children, spouses, and family life.
