The subject of man is always of singular relevance, because it affects each one of us in the most intimate part of our existence and our personality. And man is, above all, an existential project with an eternal destiny. Hence, human existence is full of problems: the problem of sin, the problem of evil, the problem of death, the problem of the high cost of living, the problem of air pollution, the many social problems, the problem of pain and suffering, etc.
But all these problems that unsettlingly spur us on in search of a satisfactory solution have a common axis constituted by the following three questions: Who am I? Where do I come from? Where am I going? And only the Word of God has the correct answers to these unsettling questions. Indeed, the Bible is neither essentialist nor existentialist, but maintains a perfect balance between both extremes: on the one hand, it tells us that the human race as such is a fallen race, but on the other hand it speaks to us of personal salvation through following, not ideas, but a person, who is the Son of God made man so that the children of men may become children of God.
