There are two main personal reasons that have prompted me to write this volume 10 now: 1) I have just given a short course in Barcelona on CHRISTIAN ETHICS, at the request of the Council of Elders of the Evangelical Church located at 54 Toldrá Street, to whom I am grateful, among many other things, for the opportunity they have given me to study a subject that was of extraordinary interest to me, but in which I am not exactly an expert. The discussion that followed each of the lessons helped me to clarify many ideas. There is a Spanish proverb that says: "Strike while the iron is hot"; and I did not want the ideas that this course suggested to me to cool down. 2) The second reason that has prompted me to publish this volume now has been the urgency of the topic, which is now palpable in all environments sensitive to the moral problems posed by modern consumer society. This urgency is felt in a special way by evangelical pastors and writers who are constrained by the love of Christ for the sheep entrusted to their care. In reality, the first core of these lessons consisted of four lectures given in the summer of 1973 in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, at the FIEIDE evangelical church pastored by D. Bernando Sánchez.
This book has been written to help believers form moral criteria in accordance with a correct biblical situational ethics.
