Sexual Autonomy in a Postmodern World

A biblical, pastoral, and apologetic response. 

The church is once again at a crossroads, and this time it faces the so-called "sexual revolution" of the 20th and 21st Centuries. Beyond the layers of complexity surrounding the controversial topic of LGBTQ+ and gender ideology, there is also a generational gap within the church itself regarding how we should respond.

In very general terms, I have observed the adult generation responding with firmness and the younger generation responding under the banner of "tolerance" demanded by the relativism of their generation. The current dilemma is not easily resolved, and the last thing we want is for the church of Jesus to be divided on the topic of sexuality and gender identity when there is a better way (and I believe more biblical way) to respond.

Sexual Autonomy in a Postmodern World was written with that purpose in mind. How can we be firm in the eternal truths of the Lord in a world whose thinking has changed so much due to recent globalization? How can we, like Jesus, be full of grace and truth (John 1:14), without forging a false dichotomy between grace and truth? I answer in three parts.
