Anticipating God's Rest

I recommend this book to every believer in the Hispanic world, and I know it will be a blessing to every reader. I also recommend that pastors use this book, as it was used in its original form, in a Bible study time or as a Sunday school class to equip the saints to benefit from this gift of being able to enjoy divine rest (even in this world) through a day set apart for communion with God and His people and worship.

This book addresses the topic of the Sabbath both in the Old Testament and its Christian understanding in the New Testament. It takes us on a journey from the creation of the world, through the Old Testament, to the work of Christ, and how the New Covenant clarifies and explains rest to us, so we can understand the Theology behind Christian rest. Finally, the author leads us to meditate on it in such a way that our minds will see each Lord's Day with pleasure and longing as an anticipation of eternal glory with God.

A well-observed Lord's Day is a balm for the soul that strengthens the Christian, prepares them to continue fighting and serving the Lord in everything during the week, and provides them with a weekly time to be nourished and refined and sanctified in the Lord.
