Comfort for Believers

God has a people, the object of His special favor, a company whom He has taken into intimate relationship with Himself, so that He calls them "My people." Very often they are disconsolate because of their own defilements, the temptations of Satan, the cruel treatment of the world, or the poor state of Christ’s cause on earth. The "God of all comfort" (2 Corinthians 1:3) is very tender toward them, and it is His revealed will that His servants should bind up the broken-hearted and pour balm of Gilead into their wounds. What cause have we here to exclaim, "Who is a God like unto Thee?" (Micah 7:18), who has provided comfort for those who were formerly rebels against His government and transgressors of His laws.

The subjects of this little book have appeared at times in our monthly magazine over the past thirty years. Formerly they were sermons preached by us a long time ago in the U.S.A. and in Australia... but because the Lord has been pleased to use them in their original form with not a few of His distressed people, we have not edited them. May God be pleased to bring peace through these subjects to distressed souls today, and may the glory be to Him alone.
