Every human being on earth needs salvation, not only from the wrath to come, but also from the flimsy theology that has permeated Christian communities. That may sound a bit extreme, but in essence it is true. The good news has been degraded to the position of an Easter Sunday sermon and an altar call, while sin and discouragement wreak havoc on the inner workings of those who sit in church pews. If you were to ask many Christians what the gospel is, the answers would sing a song about the life, death, burial, and resurrection of Christ. The accuracy of those answers might make you assume that there is an application, until you ask another question, such as: "How do you apply the gospel to your daily life?" The blank stares and faltering words can reveal the disconnect that many Christians have between the gospel and its power, not only to save our souls, but also to change our lives. I believe that what you hold in your hands can be the catalyst for that change.
