Intercessory Prayer

We live in an age in which there are encouraging indications that God is creating a hunger for and a commitment to biblical reform in many of His children. Churches are being raised up, both in our own country and abroad, in which biblical perspectives on preaching, worship, evangelism, and responsible church administration are clearly manifested. For these things we should be profoundly grateful.

However, if these tangible indications of a return to biblical perspectives and practices are not joined to an equally demonstrable reform regarding intercessory prayer as a ministerial task and privilege, then much of what has been gained will be stillborn.

In addressing this crucial topic, Mr. Bradford presents a compelling biblical case for the duty of ministerial intercession, using precepts and precedents from the Bible as his foundation. What he sets forth from the Bible, he then amply illustrates by appealing to the pen of eminent servants of God in past generations. Unless a man's heart is unmoved by the weight of the Bible, and unless he is insensitive to the words of men who were bright and burning lights in their generation, one cannot help but be moved to conviction, repentance, and reform by a prayerful reading of this brief treatise.
