Vanya Iliyn spent almost his entire childhood and youth traveling back and forth, visiting faraway corners of the world, such as Russia, China, the Philippines, Paraguay, Argentina, and the United States, facing seemingly insurmountable challenges. His journey left deep marks on the landscape of his heart. Orphaned and abandoned, Vanya found in God his only source of protection, guidance, and grace.
Peter Iliyn was born in Paraguay to parents who emigrated there from Russia. A graduate in electrical engineering, he has been part of Youth With A Mission (YWAM) since 1976 and has developed his ministry in the countries that were part of the former Soviet Union, in Eastern Europe, and many others. Peter is currently the director of YWAM North America. He and his wife Luba have four children and reside in Jefferson, Oregon.
