The measure of a young man

The successful book The Measure of a Man continues to impact millions of men worldwide, but for a long time, author Gene Getz's dream has been to bring that message to young men who are still searching for their own identity. When his son, Kenton, was in high school, Gene wrote him a series of letters based on 1 Timothy 4:12: "Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity." From that verse, Gene derived seven principles to inspire Kenton to become a young man of faith, strength, and divine purpose.

Gene and his son, who is now a father of five, have teamed up to share these principles with young people and their families. The Measure of a Young Man challenges readers to find their identity in Christ and to set high standards for themselves in daily life, in their love for others, in their growth in faith, and in sexuality.
