The Book of Acts is unique among the books of the New Testament. Of the four men who wrote an account of the ministry, life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, only one, Luke, extended the narrative to the decades that followed those events. Without this book, we would not be able to explain how that group of still fearful disciples whom we find behind closed doors at the end of the Gospels became the bold and expansive movement we see in the rest of the New Testament.
