Yes, Jesus: An Introduction to the Doctrines of Grace

Four hundred years ago, the Protestant Reformation brought the rediscovery of the Bible with its revolutionary doctrines. Seven of these doctrines conflicted with the teachings of another era because they all conclude that salvation is by grace alone, without any human contribution. For this reason, these doctrines are known today among Christians as "The Doctrines of Grace."

These doctrines are outlined below in acrostic form for better memorization:

Sovereignty of God: This doctrine means that God controls everything that happens.

Inability of man: Sin infects all parts of the human being and enslaves them. This doctrine mainly addresses the issue of "Free Will."

Justification by faith alone: When we accept Christ, God attributes Christ's perfect righteousness to us, removing our sins.

Election by unconditional grace: This doctrine presents grace as something based entirely on divine sovereign will and not as a response to anything man thinks or does.

Saving sacrifice of Christ: Jesus' sacrifice is the only effective cause of the salvation of the elect. Although Christ's sacrifice on the cross is sufficient to save all, the Father intended it only for the elect.

Unity of the elect: The church of Christ is an invisible organism, not a visible organization like the Catholic Church.

Security of the elect: The same grace that chose and saved us also preserves us to the end. God preserves His elect, so that none of them will be lost.
