HOMOSEXUALITY

It has just passed midnight. The luxurious Orient Express train is trapped in snow, stopped on the tracks for six days. In the morning, an American passenger is found murdered in his compartment. He had been stabbed once in the back. Agatha Christie wrote that, from that moment on, twelve people, whose true identities did not match who they claimed to be, dedicated themselves to confusing the meticulous detective Hercule Poirot. "Murder on the Orient Express" has long been one of the world's most intriguing mystery novels. The elements: a stuck train and twelve people with false identities, all seemingly unknown to each other. However, the twelve conspired to stab the kidnapper and murderer of Charles Lindbergh's little son in the same spot on the back. All the characters were closely related to the Lindbergh family. They included the nanny, the chauffeur, a family friend, etc., and all sought revenge. Each adopted a different identity to avoid being caught for their crime. If Poirot had followed the many clues (or red herrings) that each character set for him, the truth would never have been known.

Fiction is one thing, reality is another. If you want to live truthfully, in the light of truth, investigate for yourself. Are you still clinging to misplaced passions that have caused you to adopt a false identity? Are you listening to the many false leads from homosexual churches, gay militant groups, and congressional lobbying groups that support homosexuality? Perhaps you have come to erroneous conclusions and have become another case of "mistaken identity." If this is true, you need to know the truth. God's truth. That is why Jesus Christ said: "And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free," John 8:32.

CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE

Talented, athletic, beautiful, and yet she retains the appeal of a simple girl, perhaps like our neighbor. Marilyn Van Derbur walked down the runway of an Atlantic City theater as the winner of the Miss America 1958 pageant. After reigning for a busy year in which she made numerous stellar appearances, she completed her studies and began her distinguished career as a speaker. As the ultimate expression of self-confidence and composure, this host of 23 television specials served for 16 years as the sole female spokesperson for a renowned company. Thirty-three years later, Marilyn stepped onto a very different stage, to proclaim a very different message: "Tonight I broke the silence... it means I'm going to mention the unmentionable... She then went on to confide: "from the age of five until I turned eighteen and left home for college, my father sexually abused me. As a motivational speaker, Marilyn had a new goal, the passion to help other victims break the silence, rebuild their lives, and live in fullness. By sharing her horrific secret, she helped others talk about their own secrets and survive the shame. But there are still many victims living in a hidden storm, crying within themselves. "My heart is sore pained within me: and the terrors of death are fallen upon me. Fearfulness and trembling are come upon me, and horror hath overwhelmed me," Psalm 55:4-5
