Are there recognizable signs that show a true conversion has occurred? How can someone who is seeking God know if God has worked in their heart? Or how can Christians involved in the Lord's work discern the spiritual state of the person seeking God, or "examine" the spiritual state of the person requesting to be baptized or to become a church member?
This booklet is a guide to the marks of true conversion for those who doubt their salvation, and for the use of counselors in spiritual matters.
Currently, there is a widespread tendency to invite people to make a superficial decision for Christ and to assume they are converted without considering whether or not there is evidence of the Spirit's work. To avoid illusory and superficial conversions, the true nature of conversion, along with its signs, must be recognized and understood.
