The book of Job is the moving story of a man whose life changed dramatically in the course of a few days. It is concerned with the problem of suffering, and the answer to the problem is seen not in the comments of Job’s counselors, but primarily in his response to suffering. The book of Job teaches us how to respond to difficulties in our lives.
The way Job accepted his losses is a model of piety. Even though Job responds with questions and a certain measure of bitterness, he always takes his frustration directly to God. Job never lost his faith; he is a model for bearing the cross, and teaches us to persevere even through God’s incomprehensible ways in our lives.
