Christian Bioethics for Physicians

A challenge for all who love life.

Advances in medical technology have brought with them a host of new ethical challenges for the Christian faith, now better known as bioethics. However, despite this progress, medical responsibility for human beings does not change. It remains because there is a moral imperative in the conscience of every physician, who must recognize that their dignity and vocation have been given to them by the Creator of life. And, furthermore, they will be accountable to God for their important office!

The current dehumanization of medicine, from both the scientific and political and social sides, is a product of forgetting the biblical and Christian worldview. Those who have studied the art of curing the sick and providing them with new hopes for life through medical sciences urgently need to understand that this is one of the great purposes of God's providence for humanity.

The Lord has given this wisdom to some men and women in order to help those who groan and suffer because of their illnesses. But our wonderful hope consists in Christ's eschatological and definitive victory over sin, death, and all sickness. According to the Holy Scriptures, one day His victory will be ours completely and forever, when the Lord Himself transforms our mortal bodies and makes them like the body of His glory!
