Commentary on the Westminster Shorter Catechism - Volume 2

Based on Boston’s sermons in Human Nature in its Fourfold State, Jonathan Edwards called the Scotsman “a truly great divine.” This volume further demonstrates the praise. If we can describe anyone as a pastor-theologian, Thomas Boston undoubtedly fits the definition pre-eminently. In his many sermons, he made a mature and clear covenant theology of grace warm, personal, and practical. Systematically and enticingly simply, he often summarizes broad and complex themes within the framework of a sermon.
Especially valuable is the way he patiently leads his congregation through a concise yet extensive sweep of theology in A Body of Divinity. The translation of these volumes would render an invaluable service if, by the Lord’s blessing, it were to contribute to raising pastor-theologians and humble of heart in
our generation.
