A guide to planning publicly faithful and culturally relevant worship services.
We live in a time when contemporary music has entered the Church with such force that it seems to monopolize Christian worship, entirely distorting its purpose and true original meaning. Sometimes it is difficult to differentiate a worship service from a concert and to determine whether the fundamental objective is to please God or to satisfy the attending audience. There is an abundance of books and materials that discuss how to make worship services more enjoyable for listeners. This book is different. It provides a comprehensive and practical method for designing worship, but starting from a central argument: that Christian congregational worship is a gift instituted by God to communally strengthen our relationship with Him and with others. Therefore, it is done for God, with God, and by God.
