Collection: Arthur Pink

Arthur Walkington Pink was a Baptist minister and prolific writer. He was born in Nottingham, England, on April 1, 1886, and converted to the gospel at the age of 22, by which time he was already a successful businessman. After his conversion, Pink began to study the Scriptures intensely, and although he initially rejected the idea of receiving a formal theological education because he believed that all theological seminaries were teaching errors at that time, he finally decided to emigrate to the United States in 1910 with the intention of studying at the Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, Illinois. Before finishing his first semester, Pink left his studies to pastor a church in Silverton, Colorado.

In 1921, Pink began writing a monthly periodical titled "Studies in the Scriptures," which would become his primary ministry. Even despite his travels, he always kept the periodical in circulation with about a thousand readers. The periodical, which he maintained until the end of his days, has been the main source of material for almost all of his works that have been published by various publishing houses today.

A tireless reader, it is said that by 1932 he had read the Bible 50 times and over a million pages of theological literature, with a preference for Reformed, Puritan, and Plymouth Brethren authors.

Pink died of anemia in Stornoway, Scotland, on July 15, 1952. His last words were, "The Scriptures explain themselves."
